As we move into the first days of 2026 and the final stage of my PhD journey and responsible AI research, it’s time to pause and share a simple note of gratitude and a clear intention for the months ahead.
Thank you to clients, past and present; mentors and colleagues; students; and friends across the public relations, pet, and veterinary communities and academia these last three years as I have chronicled my journey on Linked In. I am grateful for the conversations, the collaboration, the participation in my research, and the steady commitment so many of you have given me.
A balanced 2026, by design
This year holds two priorities for me, and I am approaching both with care.
First, my PhD research and dissertation. I have a firm goal of completing my work by May 2026. My focus on responsible AI and its rapid development, what it means for both public relations and the organizations we serve, will remain even after the PhD is finished.
Second, staying connected to the field. I will continue to participate in the communities and conferences that have shaped my career, including select veterinary and pet industry events, academic and public relations conferences, and some speaking engagements. My approach is to show up, listen, learn, and contribute thoughtfully without overpromising as I complete this academic milestone.
If you see me at a conference this year, please introduce yourself. I always value the chance to connect in person.
What you can expect here
One of my intentions for 2026 is to bring Germinder + Associates and its online presence back to a steady rhythm. My main channel on social will continue to be LinkedIn, but you will see an increasing level of posts here as we unveil what’s next for Germinder + Associates that connects practice, research, and real-world observations, including:
- Responsible AI in communications, with a focus on transparency and trust
- Reputation and credibility in a fast-changing media environment
- Practical counsel that helps communications, marketing, and leadership teams work in alignment
- Industry-specific insights, including pet and veterinary communications, where clarity matters every day
An Invitation
If you are planning 2026 initiatives and you are looking for a speaker, a workshop, or strategic counsel, especially at the intersection of communications and responsible AI, I would welcome a conversation. My goal this year is to be helpful, realistic, and intentional as I complete my dissertation work. As always, I can be reached at lgerminder@germinder.com.
Wishing you a healthy, happy start to 2026 and meaningful collaboration in the months ahead.
Best Regards,
Lea-Ann O’Hare Germinder, M.S., APR, Fellow PRSA
